I am really relieved Obama won. Though there was no real surprise, it's just that shiver of happiness when I turned the radio on this morning. Obama's got a lot of very hard work, and we'll see how he'll manage it. Notheless, this is going to change things.

Congratulations to Obama and to America! : )

Hair and fanfic

I'm rewatching the fourth season of Queer as Folk, and I realized that Randy actually looks much, much better with short hair (but WITH hair, he's got a nice skull but you know...). Until yesterday, I was a big fan and defender of Justin's long and fluffy blond hair... But no. He looks cuter, even younger -wich maybe is not a very good thing with a short haircut. I think it's his nose. Randy's nose is cute, but quite big, and when he has nothing to frame and reduce the visible skin of his face, his features look more harmonious. So yeah, I have nothing better to do of my life.

Another thing, I decided I'll post my Gale/Randy RPS fanfiction on my journal. I'll friendlock them though.

Long day, how time flies...

Aug. 31st, 2008 | 10:45 pm
location: pillow
mood: tiredtired
music: the storm outside

Worked my ass off all day, from 6 in the morning 'till 8 pm... My father's boyfriend just bought a bakery, and well he needed help, and silly me "oh, I'll help!". Bah, it was kind of fun, actually, handling beautiful cakes and soft croissants... not to mention I stuffed my face with peach tart (on the 10 minutes break I had...). Hey, never wandered how much time is relative, can be stretched? How it may be an objective calculation of the way the universe revolves, but is a completely unstable measure of how you feel yourself moving forward? Gotta make a little research to know on what is based the calculation of the seconds... Anyway, I'm gonna sleep 'till my body fades away, and then read some more fanfiction... And my eternal and humble admiration to all workers of all kinds. Society is a strange thing... *yawns*

I read the cutest story in an italian newspaper; a dog saved an abandoned baby. She found it near garbage, carefully rolled the baby (there were no bite marks on the baby's skin) to her nearby basket and put it in it with her puppies. Thanks to the dogs' heat, the baby survived untill the dog's owner found it and called the police...

Haiku

Aug. 17th, 2008 | 03:40 pm
mood: calmcalm

Here is 2 haikus from Chiyo ni, a very talented and beautiful (so they say) lady writer, also called the bonzess of the naked garden. I really like her haikus and I felt like posting some (translated by your humble hostess).

First snow
What I write disappears
What I write disappears

I also have seen the moon
To this world
Goodbye

The second one is the very last she dictated to her disciple before dying.
I also write the japanese pronunciation so you can feel the rythm:

Hatsu yuki ya
mono kakeba kae
kakeba kae

tsuki mo mite
hare wa kono se wo
kashiku hare

Bicycles

Aug. 14th, 2008 | 03:26 pm
mood: anxiousanxious

Was in Pisa three days ago, and I saw these two bicycles that had become part of their environment. They weren't just bikes anymore, they were part of something wider. It was funny and pretty so I took some pictures. Here they are. (God, I had to wait 2 hours to buy my stupid ticket to visit the cathedral in Piazza del Duomo, but it was sooo worth it. Even if it felt a little too much like being in Disneyland, it was so beautiful. I took a few pictures of the cathedral too, murals and a few sculptures. I couldn't believe all those people taking pictures with their flashes on...)

Let's get started

Aug. 13th, 2008 | 10:59 pm
mood: amusedamused

I have created this account a while ago but never had the energy or even really wanted to post entries. I actually registered to read queer as folk fanfiction... And then I said 'what the heck' and decided to give it a try. For whomever lands here, I'll try and post pictures, drawings, maybe a little fanfiction myself. In the mean time, let's celebrate my first entry. Wish me many entries to come, and shall all fortunate and unfortunate readers who come by this virtual avatar of myself receive my blessing (for what it's worth...).
